Blogging is really new to me in some ways. It’s not that I haven’t done it before, I just haven’t done it for a good six months or more so I kind of feel like a newbie again. Real life takes many twists and turns, just as made up stories do. For the last few months I’ve needed to take time out, to take a breath and centre myself.
And it’s been worth it.
The only problem I have now is that I haven’t written for a good six months either so there is so much stuff buzzing round inside my head my fingers can’t move fast enough on the keyboard to get it all out! That stuff is words, those strings of letters we put together to make words that make sentences that turn into paragraphs that turn into pages that turn into chapters. I think you’ve got the idea by now…
So all that stuff often wakes me in the middle of the night. It won’t leave my head until it’s written down sometime before sunrise.
I really like the word stuff. It can mean anything – anything you want. All day we all do stuff but everyone’s stuff is different. My Dad asked me yesterday what I had been up to and I replied, “You know, stuff!” I could see him raise his eyebrows and roll his eyes through the telephone! Being my Dad I did elaborate… “I drew a little, read another few chapters, washed, read some more, cuddled the cats, ignored the dishes in the sink … stuff!
I also did some writing for a picture book I’m working on but I’ll leave you to wonder about that stuff!
I also have another project happening but will tell you about that next time.
Till next time, happy new beginnings and even happier writing!
